Foreword:
I would like to extend a warm invitation to you to attend the 6th BZKF Network Meeting in Würzburg. Look forward to a day full of new ideas, exciting insights, and inspiring encounters. Together with representatives
from politics, business, and our partner organizations, we’d like to discuss current developments and ongoing BZKF projects with you.
A special highlight is the new “Innovation Matchmaking Oncology” format. Together with Bayern Innovativ—and complemented by a startup exhibition—we aim to provide a platform for engaging in dialogue with representatives from academia, business, and startup companies.
Starting at 1:00 p.m., the six BZKF flagship projects will provide insights into their work and impressively demonstrate how cross-site collaboration can lead to scientific progress and, in the long term, to improved care for cancer patients. In addition, the first two funded BZKF studies, ERASE-AML and PRIME, will be presented—an important milestone for our network. At the poster exhibition, we invite you to discuss the current projects with members of the BZKF study groups. At the end of the event, please vote to decide which study groups will be awarded the BZKF Poster Prize. In addition, the 2026 BZKF Young Scientist Fellows—already the fourth cohort—will present their research projects and goals.
Another key part of the program is the exchange with patients and their families in the Patient Expert Pool (PEP). Their perspectives make a valuable contribution to patient-centered cancer research and are therefore an integral
part of our network meeting. We would like to extend our special thanks to the Bavarian State Government for its ongoing support and commitment to the further expansion of the BZKF.
