Cancer Survivor Guides: We are here for you
Your acute oncological treatment is now behind you, but many worries and questions remain: our team will accompany you on your way back to everyday life with and after cancer.
- We are your personal contacts and will navigate you reliably through the complex healthcare system.
- We will help you find your way into a new phase of life.
- We will show you how you can regain a good quality of life and participate in social life again.
- We support you in developing health literacy and self-management skills in order to strengthen your personal responsibility.
- We build individual bridges to medical specialists for you, maintain contact with GPs and other specialists and support you in ensuring a smooth flow of information between the care partners.
- We look for suitable information and support services for you and put you in touch with self-help groups, advice centers and therapy services.
Our pilotage also has limits
- We do not provide medical treatment: we do not advise on medical treatment decisions and do not provide diagnoses or treatment recommendations. We always refer medical questions to specialists.
- We do not provide legal advice: If you have legal questions about social benefits, insurance or employment law issues, we will refer you to qualified advice centers and relevant institutions.
- We do not provide psychotherapeutic intervention: We offer active listening and confidential support, but are not a substitute for professional psychotherapeutic treatment for serious psychological stress.

Cancer Survivor Pilot Study in Augsburg:
The Cancer Survivor Pilot Study in Augsburg takes a holistic approach to providing people with the best possible support on their further journey after surviving cancer.
After a detailed consultation, an individual action plan is drawn up for each patient. This plan is made available to both the patients themselves and their GPs so that they are involved as central points of contact in the long term.
The aim is to provide ongoing support that helps to provide guidance, reduce stress and make everyday life easier to cope with after cancer treatment.
After 12 months, we ask both the patients and their GPs whether the action plan was helpful and to what extent the recommendations have been implemented. We also record whether the cooperation and communication between doctor and patient has improved as a result.
In the current test phase, the program is aimed at people who havecompleted treatment for colorectal cancer or lung cancer. In a next step, the offer will be further developed and expanded for patients with all tumor diseases.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail.
