Utilizing, pooling and expanding expertise

The joint use of the individual structures by all six participating locations strengthens the sustainable Bavaria-wide alliance and creates added value for the Bavarian population. The lighthouse structures are set up based on the specific strengths of the locations and focus on special technologies and expertise. As a result, existing expertise is utilized, bundled and expanded in a targeted manner. Unnecessary duplication of resources is avoided.

The lighthouse structures are a prerequisite for complex further developments in the respective area and assume service functions for the entire center. Conversely, the exchange of samples and the referral of patients with special problems from the entire center to the respective highly specialized unit leads to optimal diagnostics and therapy as well as to faster progress in the respective areas, which in turn benefits everyone. The lighthouse structures and the cross-location use of their expertise in the BZKF ensure international excellence on the one hand and Bavaria-wide participation and improvement in patient care on the other.
