Treatment options in cancer therapy
The choice of treatment in cancer therapy depends on the type of cancer or tumor. Not all treatment options are equally suitable for all cancers and all patients. Which forms of treatment are used is decided on a case-by-case basis.
The most common treatment methods are:
surgery
Personalized, targeted cancer therapies (targeted therapies)

Therapy-related offers
Another very important aspect of cancer therapy are the therapy-related services offered at all six sites of the Bavarian Center for Cancer Research (BZKF) in the Comprehensive Cancer Centers can be found.
These include, for example:
- Complementary oncology and integrative medicine
- Palliative medicine
- Supportive therapies
- Psycho-oncology
- Self-help services
- Social services and nursing advice
Further information, films about therapy options and therapy support services are also available from the German Center for Immunotherapy, the German Cancer Society, the University Hospital Würzburg and the German Cancer Aid.
The best way for cancer patients to decide which type of cancer therapy and which accompanying measures are most suitable is to talk to the doctors treating them.
